The service is an early identification and intervention program aimed at supporting students who are at risk due to their circumstances or personal issues or are showing signs of disengaging from education with low or erratic school attendance.
The SFYS staff work with schools to:
SFYS does not provide direct support to individual students but works with the school’s leadership, teaching and wellbeing staff to deliver programs to support vulnerable students.
The SFYS program based at Grampians Community Health works with all government, and independent primary and secondary schools across Ararat Rural City, Northern Grampians and Pyrenees Shires.
Students can only engage through a referral from their school. Discuss with your school principal or welfare staff.
The service is provided within schools and communities in the local government areas of Ararat, Northern Grampians and Pyrenees.
Students aged 10-18 years who attend schools in the local government areas of Ararat, Northern Grampians Shire and Pyrenees.
