Support for Carers

Many people don’t see themselves as carers, but in reality, they are doing everything a carer does.

They are often children, parents, partners, relatives or friends who look after someone who needs help with their day-to-day living.

Carers can be of any age and give support to a relative or friend who has a disability, mental health problem, medical condition or is frail due to age.

Support for Carers helps care for you while you care for someone else. Take a beak to rest and recharge. The Program can include:

• Education and resources
• Carer case management and advocacy
• Aids and equipment
• Help accessing or navigating services
• Short-term respite for a few hours
• Help to have a short break away
• Social activities
• Referral for counselling
• Carer Support Group
