GCH Passes Mental Health Accreditation With Flying Colours

Grampians Community Health is pleased to report on the successful outcome of our recent accreditation audit, meeting the requirements of both the QIC Health and Community Services Standards, and the National Standards for Mental Health Services (NSMHS).

Reviews are undertaken every three years by an independent auditor and include interviews with staff, Board members, volunteers and clients.

This process ensures that effective governance and management systems are in place to support the delivery of safe, effective services that meet the needs of our community.

The review covered 249 individual indicators, all of which were met with no corrective actions required.  This is an outstanding result and reflects the strength of our systems and culture.

Key strengths noted during the audit include:

• A clearly embedded strategic planning process
• Strong risk management systems, including an effective and well-understood risk appetite statement
• Robust financial oversight and inclusive budget development
• Continuous quality improvement systems that support learning, reflection and development
• Effective use of data and analytics to inform service delivery
• Strong advocacy work, supported through ARRCH and staff initiatives
• High levels of integrity and trust reported by stakeholders and partners
• Passionate staff who value flexibility, autonomy, and alignment with GCH values
• Facilities managed and maintained to a high standard within available resources.
• Positive feedback from carers and clients, with praise for warm handovers, service responsiveness, and program clarity
